Opening today at the Musei Civici

The Falegnameria di Palazzo Mosca – Musei Civici di Pesaro, in collaboration with MUNAF – Museo Nazionale di Fotografia in Milan–Cinisello Balsamo, presents Alessandro Vicario’s solo exhibition Impressions 1999–2025, curated by Alberto Mazzacchera. The exhibition brings together a selection of works from several photographic series made between 1999 and 2025, presenting the central concerns of an artistic practice that consistently explores memory, traces and the spaces we inhabit.

The opening is today at 6 p.m., and the exhibition can be visited until 28 June, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 7 p.m. Walls, domestic surfaces, shutters, everyday objects and natural details become the focus of close attention to the marks left by time. Traces of use, layers and subtle variations in the material emerge as silent presences, transforming fragments of reality into images of intense visual concentration and delicate sensory depth. The title Impressions evokes the dual nature of the image: the imprint, a physical trace left on things, and the impression, the perceptual experience of looking.

In Vicario’s work, the idea of home opens onto a broader perspective. In the series Mappe arboree, devoted to the surfaces of tree bark, the gaze encounters the textures of nature and suggests a deeper relationship with the environment, evoking the earth as a great shared home. Alongside this intimate dimension is a reflection on the public and historical space of collective life. Accompanying the exhibition, Impressions of Faces, created in collaboration with the Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro, offers a photographic and cinematic performance devoted to portraiture and the uniqueness of every face.
