What happens to a house, with all the memories and objects that inhabit it, when the person who lived there goes away? Alessandro Vicario, a young photographer from Modena, tries to tell this story through fifty photographs observing two abandoned homes. The exhibition Frammenti domestici tra memoria e oblio (Pesaro, Centro arti visive Pescheria, 22 January–19 February, tel. 0721-387651) speaks of walls that retain the traces of pictures now elsewhere, of names that no longer have a reason to remain on the front door, of the dull light falling through a windowpane. A veil of tender compassion covers everything left behind.
