Alessandro Vicario Inside the Home

In 2003, two years after Lalla Romano’s death, Alessandro Vicario entered her home, capturing in 29 images the Paesaggi d’assenza [Landscapes of Absence] named in the title of the book and exhibition. These are signs and everyday objects that, in silence and isolated from their context, convey more than words the emptiness left by the absence of those who used them.
